Shades Used For VV Hashtag Palette Look 1
📷
For this look, I used 6 shades from the Violet Voss Hashtag Eyeshadow Palette
Step by Step Tutorial
I am going to run through each step individually, and talk about the quality and performance of the eyeshadow as I do. This means this post is a review and a tutorial!
📷
Step One
To start of, I applied the shade Fresh, which is a matte pale peach/nude shade, all over the eye lid and crease area to prep the area using a fluffy blending brush. Prior to this, I did prep my eyes with concealer and applying this shade was just to further prep the eye some more with a powder product.
This shade does mimic my natural skin colour, and doesn’t really come up or isn’t very pigmented on the eyes. However, it is a really good eye prep shade which I think is essential to have in any palette and means you don’t have to reach for another powder.

Step Two
Next, I applied the shade Sauce, which is a matte light orange brown shade, into the crease as a transition using a fluffy blending brush.
This shade is easy to apply and good to work with. It has minimal fall-out or kick-up, and isn’t messy. It is pigmented, but you do have to build it up to get it really, really pigmented. I started to use a heavier hand and coated the brush more, which helped in regards to building it up to the pigment I wanted quicker. It blends out perfectly and is a good eyeshadow to work with..

Step Three
After I had built up Sauce to the pigmentation I wanted, I applied the shade G.O.A.T, which is a deeper red brown shade, over the top of Sauce. I applied this with the same fluffy blending brush into the crease area as another transition shade to deepen up Sauce and to add definition.
This shade works the same as Sauce does. It is pigmented but you do have to build it up, and again, I ended up going in with a heavier hand to get the colour I wanted quicker. I did find that because I started going in so heavy, I had a tiny bit of fall-out and kick-up, but this only happened when I went in hard. This shade blends perfectly and is a good transition shade and deepening/defining shade.

Step Four
Next,, I added the shade TBT, which is a matte raspberry purple shade into the crease using a fluffy blending brush.
TBT works the same as the above two mattes, but it has a tiny bit more pigmentation. It still takes a while to build up to full intensity, but less time than Sauce and G.O.A.T. It blends really well and doesn’t look muddy or messy.

Step Five
After I applied and built up TBT to the intensity I wanted it to be in the crease, I moved onto the lid. I applied the shade Life, which is a shimmery bright purple shade all over the lid using a flat synthetic shader brush. I did cut the crease prior to packing the shadow on, which just means that I applied concealer all over the lid before, which makes the shade come up more pigmented and bright on the lid. I continued to pack this shade up on the lid until it was fully filled in and until I got it to the bright, intensity I wanted to be. I made sure that when I was applying this shade, I did not bring it too far up because I didn’t want any shimmer to get into the matte shades in the crease.
Life is an extremely good shade to work with. It does have a bit of fall-out/kick-up, but it is easy to dust away and I do admit that I went in pretty heavy and applied heaps to the brush which could be causing way more fall-out than normal. It has high pigmentation and colour pay-off, and looks good when packed on the lid using a natural shader brush without a cut crease lid, but of-course, it does come up way brighter when you cut the lid and use a synthetic shader brush. All in all, it is a beautiful shade and is very easy to apply.

Step Six
After this, I applied the shade Sunset, which is a shimmery muted purple shade, to the lower lash line using a wet flat synthetic shader brush.
This shade works the exact same as the above shimmery shade, and is extremely bright, pigmented and easy to work with.
