MAC Frosted Firework Holiday 2020 Collection Surefire Hit Mini Lipstick Vault Description + Review

The MAC Cosmetics Frosted Firework Surefire Hit Mini Lipstick Vault that was released as part of the Holiday/Christmas 2020 collection comes with 12 of MAC Cosmetics Best Selling Lipstick shades. Each Lipstick in the vault contains 1.7 grams - 0.05 ounces- of product, which is a smaller version of the full-sized shades which contain 3.0 grams - 0.1 ounces- of product. You still get so much product with the mini-size and it will take ages before you have to repurchase the shade. The Lipsticks have a shelf life of 12 months and are made in Canada.

The Surefire Vault comes with lipsticks in a variety of different finishes and textures including Matte, Retro Matte, Amplified Cream, Satin and Lustre. Specifically, it comes with 3 Mattes, 1 Retro Matte, 3 Amplified Cream, 3 Satin and 2 Lustre shades. Of course, the Lipsticks, finishes and shades in the fault have the same formula and apply the same as the permanent version, with the only difference being the amount of product and the packaging. What I find really awesome about the vault is that you get to try some of MAC's bestselling Lipsticks shade in one-go, and this will especially be great for people who don't have many MAC lipsticks but have been wanting to try them for ages. There are so many Lipstick shades in the range, along with multiple finishes/textures, so it can be hard to pick what ones you want, so the vault gives you an opportunity to try some shades and get used to the different finishes.

Just to give you an idea, I will talk briefly about each of the finishes/textures just incase you are not familiar with MAC Lipsticks, which come in a variety of different textures. The Matte formula is your typical Matte, dry formula, but the Retro Matte formula is the most Matte and dry of all the finishes. The Satin formula is a cross between a Matte and a Cream, and the Amplified Cream formula definitely leans towards more of a cream than a matte.

The Lustre formula is a cross. between a full colour and a pearlescent, reflective shade. It has reflects in it but is not fully shimmery and definitely has colour and opaqueness to it. Sometimes the Lustre formula reminds me of a Satin lipstick because it is so light but fully pigmented and the amount of shimmer differs between shades, with some having more and some having less.

As I said, the packaging of the vault and Lipsticks in the vault is exclusive to the Holiday 2020 collection. Each individual Lipstick comes in sparkly, coloured tube that matches up with the actual shade of the lipstick. The Lipsticks come in a glittery silver box, with a stand and slot for each lipstick. I am definitely going to keep the stand and continue to store the lipsticks in it, I think it is really beautiful and comes in handy.

The MAC Frosted Firework Holiday 2020 Surefire Hit Mini Lipstick Vault costs $74.50 USD- $160.00 AUD. MAC has said that the vault is worth $158.00 USD, $1252.00 AUD - in value, so you are getting a bargain compared to if you bought the lipsticks individually. The vault can be purchased from MAC Cosmetics Online and In-Store, plus at select MAC Cosmetics retailers.

If it is sold out online in your country, you may have to ring your local store and enquire about how much stock they have, and you may have to take a trip into the store if you really want it because on some MAC sites, depending on your country, it may be sold out by now but it is most likely that a shop near you does have it in stock.
