Tarteist Pro Glow Highlight and Contour Palette Swatches, Description, Review + Price Analysis
Heyyy Beautiessss
Tarte Cosmetics recently released a new line of ‘Pro’ products and today, I am going to be talking about the Tarte Pro Glow Highlight and Contour Palette.I am going to describe the palette and it’s formula, show you the shades, swatches and swatch comparisons and then do a price analysis to see if the product if accurately priced, so make sure you read until the end babes!!
Tarte Pro Glow Palette Description/Review
The Tarte Pro Glow Palette is a new palette by Tarte that contains 6 different shades– 4 powder highlighting shades, 1 contour powder shade and 1 contour cream shade. The 5 powder shades contain 5 grams (0.176 ounces) of product and the 1 cream shade contains 4.7 grams (0.17 ounces) of product, giving the palette a total of 29.7 grams (1.05 ounces) of product. The amount of product in the palette is pretty good for a palette. 📷
The formula of the powder shades is absolutely amazing. Every shade glides onto the skin so smoothly and is so pigmented (as you will see in the swatches below). The cream shade is also very pigmented and glides on easily. I think it’s pretty good that there is 1 cream contour shade and 1 powder contour shade with four really good highlighters.
Beneficial ingredients in the formula include;
Vanilla Extract, which is a natural ingredient that acts as an antioxidant and fragrance agent. The antioxidant properties of Vanilla Extract protect the skin from damage by external factors (free radicals, etc), which keeps the skin in good condition and can have anti aging effects.
Coconut (Cocos Nucifera (Coconut) Oil), which is a skin conditioning and emollient (moisturizing) agent that smooths and softens the skin and leaves it in good condition.

Vitamin E (Tocopheryl) , which is a skin conditioning and antioxidant agent that is really good for the skin and provides the following benefits- softening and smoothing the skin, improving skin moisture, maintaining the skin in good condition, preventing infection and having anti aging effects such as removing small wrinkles. Tocopheryl also acts as a natural preservative chemical and can prevent the growth and microorganisms in cosmetic products.
Shea Butter (Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea) Butter) , which is an emollient agent that has benefits for the skin including binding moisture, promoting healing and softening and smoothing the skin. It also has skin elasticity benefits.
Other beneficial ingredients in the formula include Sodium Hyaluronate which holds and retains moisture and has skin tightening effects, Sunflower Seed Extract which softens and smooths the skin and keeps it in good condition, Algae Extract which holds and retains moisture and helps to produce a fresh feeling on the skin and Hydrogenated Lecithin which maintains the skin in good condition. Phenoxyethanol is used as a preservative and the formula is paraben free.
The Tarte Pro Highlight formula is packed full of natural moisturizing ingredients that are very beneficial to the skin, and this does contribute to the price tag (full price analysis at end).
The packaging is nice but the front is the black type material that picks up EVERY fingerprint and smudge.Apart from picking up every single fingerprint, highlighting is done after foundation and I find that I get so much foundation on it and it’s so hard to wipe off (you know thattttt rubber type of material). The packaging is very sturdy though and you get two mirrors on the other side of the opening doors. You can tell the packaging isn’t cheap.
I absolutely love this palette by Tarte. I had heard a lot of mixed reviews so I was kind of expecting it to be average but when I got it and started using it I was soooooo suprised, in a good way! The palette is worth the price because you get so much product and the formula is composed of high quality ingredients. It’s pigmentation is amazing and I just really love this palette.
The Tartiest Pro Glow Highlight and Contour Palette costs $73.50 AUD ($53.00 USD) and can be purchased from Tarte Online and Sephora (links at end)
Sooooo, now let’s get into the shades and swatches in the palette babes!!!
Tartiest Pro Glow Palette Shades + Swatches
I am going to swatch each shade in this order, starting with Lit (shade 1)
Shade 1- Lit
Lit is a champagne gold powder highlight shade.

Shade 2- Strobe
Strobe is a light gold/pearl powder highlight shade.

Shade 3-Fire
Fire is a beautiful gold powder highlight shade. Tarte describes this as a ‘Bronze Gold’ colour but I would lean more towards a typical Gold colour rather than bronze.

Shade 4- Stunner
Stunner is a soft white gold powder highlight shade.

Shade 5- Shade
Shade is a brown cream contour shade. This colour is the perfect shade to contour the face and I really like it. It isn’t too orange or too dark and is my favourite colour to contour with (I hate orange toned shades).

Shade 6- Sculpt
Sculpt is light brown powder contour shade. This is shade is also my perfect contour shade. You can apply Shade first, blend it, and then apply Sculpt over it to give extra dimension.

Price Analysis
$73.50 AUD- $53.00 USD
The Tarte Pro Glow Highlight and Contour Palette is a bit expensive to buy, but I think it is priced accurately and I am going to explain why I think this.
Firstly, when looking at price accuracy there is so many different elements to take into consideration. I usually start by looking at the ingredients so that is what I will do now.
As I said in the description at the start, the Tarte Pro Glow palette is literally packed FULL of natural moisturizing ingredients that are very beneficial to the skin. The first thing to look at is that natural ingredients are obviously going to be more expensive to buy than synthetic (man-made) ingredients because natural ingredients can’t just be cooked up in the lab. Tarte always uses natural ingredients which drives the price of their products up. We really do have to take into consideration how much money is needed to make a high quality product with good ingredients, companies need to buy each and every ingredient in the formula multiple times, which costs money (and a lot of it at that). They have to make the money back, so the more they spend on quality ingredients, the higher the price of the product. No matter what, companies need to make enough money back to buy more ingredients so that they can manufacture more batches of the product (unless it’s limited edition), along with making a profit. If they don’t make the money back that they put into producing the product, they won’t be able to make more batches. So, I can totally understand why Tarte have priced this palette at $73.50 AUD ($53.00 USD) because the ingredients in the formula are top notch, beneficial and natural ingredients.
Next we will look at the amount. The total net weight and amount of product in the Tarte Pro Palette is 29.7 grams , which is a fair amount of product. Obviously, you are paying for the amount of product you get too.
Onto packaging. The packaging is really sturdy and you can tell that it isn’t extremely cheap. There are two mirrors on the inside and it is heavy and not flimsy. You do have to pay for the packaging of a product too because the company does (it’s important to remember packaging does cost money, the better the packaging, the more expensive the product).
Lastly, Tarte is a pretty hyped up brand with strong demand, so we have to factor that into final costs to.
To conclude, I believe that the price tag of the Tarte Pro Palette largely stems from the quality and benefits of the ingredients in it. At first I thought the price was very inflated but as soon as I looked at the ingredient list and did some research I knew why. I am happy with paying more for a really good formula that is going to have benefits to my skin rather than paying less for something that doesn’t have such a good formula. The cost of Tarte products are also driven up because they use all natural ingredients, which are more expensive due to demand and the fact that they are not synthetic. The packaging is sturdy, heavy and does not feel cheap. You get 29.7 grams of total product in the palette which will take a long time to use. Lastly, Tarte is a pretty hyped up brand, which may contribute to final costs. Taking all this into consideration, I believe the Tarte Pro Highlight and Contour Palette is priced accurately at $73.50 AUD ($53.00 USD)
All in all, I really like the Tarte Pro Glow Palette.
