Consistency/Coverage/Best Applied With

📷

The Consistency is extremely liquid. Sometimes when I pump it onto my hand before application, it starts to run down.  It has absolutely no creaminess to do and is just an extreme liquid.

The Coverage of the foundation is extremely low. It last's 2 hours before it starts to wear (more on this below)

It can be applied with a sponge or Flat Kabuki Foundation Brush. I prefer the foundation brush.

Longevity/Lasting Power/Wear Test

To test the lasting power and wear of the foundation, I checked my face in the mirror 4 times in 2 hour intervals and described what I thought, equaling 8-hours of total wear.

📷

Wear Test with With Time Intervals

Time Applied- 9.30 AM

Thoughts On Application- The Consistency is a runny liquid. It has no creaminess at all. I like the finish and it seems to be full coverage. It blends out perfectly and makes the skin look flawless. Deffo love the look on application

First Check In- 11.30 AM

After two hours, the foundation is still giving high coverage, but has slowly started to wear off in places. It still looks okay but the wearing off annoyed me. The foundation isn't oxidising and I am the same colour as before. I think the foundation is so light-weight that it looks dull on me. There is no creasing or settling. Still looks okay.

📷

Second Check In- 1.30 PM

After four hours, the foundation has worn off so much more. It has creasing, texture, and the coverage has gone down to barely nothing. It deffo doen''t have the coverage or finish I like and is nothing like when I first applied it. It really hasn't worn very good, AT ALL!

📷

Third Check In-3.30 PM

After six hours, the foundation looked horrible. It has pretty much come off, and my face just looks dull. The thin consistency of this foundation could be a reason that this foundation goes the way it does. The finish isn't even and I definitely don't have much . coverage.  There is some creasing and settling into fine lines on the face and it looks gross.

📷

Fourth Check Ib- 5.30 PM

After 8 hours, the foundation obviously still looks horrendous. Thank GOD this is my last check-in, because I have wore this for long enough. There was so much creasing. My face just looked so dull and not flattering. It has oxidised to a lighter shade, and I just . hate it.

📷

Lasting Power/Wear Conclusion

This foundation has absolute HORRIBLE lasting power and wear.

📷

It looked perfectly when I first applied it but after 2 hours ,everything went downhill. The product started wearing off and taking the coverage with it. If a foundation did this after multiple hours I could understand, but the fact it went so bad in just TWO hours annoyes me. I have never had a foundation do this.

After six hours, I just wanted it off my face because I looked so horrible and the texture was grainy- kind of pixilated- making my pores look super renounced.

All in all, I hated this foundation and won't use it again.

Marketing Analysis

Is this product marketed accurately?

📷

To assess if marketing is accurate, I looked up what claims ColourPop uses to sell the foundation and then made up questions that I set out to answer to test the accuracy.

ColourPop describes the foundation by saying...

"Developed for the Selfie Age, our buildable full coverage, natural matte foundation delivers flawless looking skin from day-to-night. The oil-free, lightweight formula blends smoothly and is easily customisable to create the coverage you want. Build it up or sheer it out, it was developed with innovative soft-blurring pigments to deliver true color while looking and feeling natural. The lockable pump is easy to use and keeps your routine mess-free! As always, 100% cruelty-free and vegan"

Questions I Have After Reading Marketing

Is the foundation buildable and full overage?

Any foundation is buildable, including this one. This foundation gives light coverage at best. As you seen in the wear test, just 2 hours after applying, product started to come off, and so did the coverage. It only got worse as the day went on.

I ended up looking so dull and my skin horrible, so no I don't think this claim is accurate, AT ALL.

📷

Does it deliver flawless looking skin from day to night?

Wow, what a bold claim ColourPop. I keep referencing this, but 2 hours in and this foundation looked so horrible, so for it to go from day to night? That's bold. This isn't a foundation I would recommend to anyone, let alone someone attempting to wear from night to day.

This claim is downright inaccurate.

📷

Is the foundation lightweight and does it blend out smoothly?

The foundation is lightweight and I think might be part of the problem. It is so lightweight that it dries down so quick, which may be taking product and coverage with it.

I didn't have any trouble with blending out the product at all. This claim is accurate

📷

Is this foundation developed with innovative, soft blurrng pigments?

The pigment ingredients in the formula include Titanium Dioxide (CI  77891), and Iron Oxide (CI 777491, CI 77492 and CI 77499). This means there are 4 pigments in the formula.

I don't know why brands go on about special sounding pigments, working them into marketing. The pigments they use are the same ones that were created ages ago, and the ones all brands use. There are no unique or inovation going on here with ColourPop, they are only trying to put a little pink bow on their marketing.

I find this inaccurate.

📷

Does the lockable pump easy to use and does it keep your routine mess free?

I really do like the lockable pump because it works so well. It twists for lock and when it twists it's not filmsy. It does a good job, although foundation does spill out the top somehow, and it's foundation so no routine will be mess free.

This claim is pretty accurate.

Summary/Overall Thoughts

📷

I hate to say it but I really dislike this foundation. I couldn't believe it- and didn't expect it- when I stated my wear test. I was expecting to everything to go over easy, like it does with most of the products I analyse, but that didn't  happen.

First al of, when you first apply the foundation it looks perfect and flawless. It isn't until two hours later that you notice a change- low coverage, some coming off and creasing. This finish was just so bad and I looked so flat and lifeless, all of my imperfections were showing and my pores were exposed.

In regards to the formula, it is good. It has no toxic or dangerous ingredients and is packed with good chemicals.

Again, I dislike this product and wouldn't' recommend it unless you like a super low coverage finish.
